I am only looking to friend people who want to become, well, friends; I like having a smaller flist. I read all non-community posts on my flist and never skim. You don't have to have the same kind of dedication to my LJ (lol) but if you're not interested in getting to know me and me getting to know you, don't ask me to friend you. I have some strong opinions (you can see them below) but I don't require my flisties to believe what I do at all. Some of my favorite people on LJ disagree with me on almost all of it! XD And anyway most of my entries are about my daughter, what I cooked for dinner, or why the Chinese language makes me cry and be happy at the same time.

Anyone is welcome to friend me or defriend me at will though, you don't need my permission to read it. That's why this journal is public. If you don't leave a comment on the latest public entry, I'll assume you just want to read me, and not to be friended by me.

An American woman of German heritage who learned the Chinese language in Taiwan, is married to a Canadian man, and has the best baby girl in the entire world.

The wrath of man does not accomplish the righteousness of God. -- the Epistle of St. James
I am against war, against abortion, against the death penalty, against euthanasia, against torture and against both communism and uncontrolled capitalism--I'm for peace, for universal health care, for human rights for everyone. I'm a practicing Catholic. I'm a feminist. I'm a cynic. I'm a dreamer. And I make delicious sandwiches. <3

I moderate prolife, cpop, and chinesesongs.

I keep my Harry Potter fanfic (mostly Draco/Pansy) in alphaslytherins. I haven't written fanfic for a long time however.

I have a moribund restaurant review blog. The feed for it is restaurant_blog or you can check out it out directly: THIS IS A RESTAURANT BLOG. Currently it contains mostly reviews of restaurants in Vancouver BC, but also a few from Taipei and Seattle.
